Some of my previous works are worth mentioning; the autobiographic book Beckombergalandet, the art exhibition Intensified accommodation, in collaboration with Magnus Bärtås, and the art film Small systems in collaboration with the actor Lina Wiksten (ref. my CV).
Most of my works can be categorized as documentary photography, and they have often grown out of a personal experience. Through staging, adding of texts, objects, and in the use of various kind of photographic traditions, i.e. black-and-white and color, I experiment with the classical documentary form. Photography, collage, writing and video are the techniques I use.
In this project my purpose is to photograph animals, dead or alive, on motorways. The road is an interesting phenomenon. It constitutes a sharply drawn line in the landscape, a borderline. At the same time it is a well defined zone, a no-mans-land, a biotope of its own. Roads are nor nature neither constructions. It is that duality on different levels I try to catch.
My first approach is that of a nature photographer. I also submit the motives to various conditions. The photos are taken in various lights, under various weather conditions and during different seasons. The documentary tradition as well as a staging tradition can be traced in this procedure.
