A highlight was the latest exhibition curated by Jesús Micó, "A Certain Panorama - Recent Author Photography in Spain” and Festival Circulations in Paris.
It tries to transfer the reality of Lo Pagán (Murcia), where hundreds of people go to in order to have ‘therapeutic’ mud baths, to a sci-fi stage. Emphasizing the absurd in human behaviour and in the environmental pollution of Menor Sea (close to collapse by urban pressure and agricultural spills).
All the photos are taken from reality, except one, an allusion to the film ‘The Day the Earth Stood Still’ (1951).
The theremin of soundtrack was with me while working on them, making me imagine the arrival of beings from outer space with an ultimatum to stop environmental destruction.
