These photographs intend to speak the silences defining family albums which tend to exclude images that disturb the notion of a ‘happy family’. So I rewrote/reshot family photographs focusing on what the photographer had marginalized. Taking advantage of my knowledge of what the future had in store for the photographed people, I tried to see whether signs of this future were already present in the original. I try to ‘stage’ the new photograph in ways that may reveal that. The staging may concern the association of photos as they may be arranged on a page -the meaning deriving from the layout. I also show memory constantly reworking itself and past and present as coexisting.
