I started recording individual and group portraits at the Athens metro driven by the need to reshape real life, to transform awkward daily routine into an area of observation and articulate narration. The metro is the ideal place for the observer to relish human presence at its complexity and diversity. People perfectly groomed and shiny or people neglected, short phrases in the body language, fragments of incomplete and unknown stories, all so close to the watcher’s eye. Above all, time: idle wait time, emphasizing each person’s inner reality.Personal stories of unique physiognomies compose the collective narrative of everyday life.
