I was born (1970) and raised in Athens, Greece and still live there.
I studied graphic design in Vakalo Art and Design College S.A and have been working in this sector since 2000.
I have also worked in theater, television and advertising for a few years as set and costume designer. Additionally I have been involved in artistic jewelry making.
About twelve years ago I found my true love: photography. I am a member of the Hellenic Photographic Society (HPS) since 2013 and have taken part in several group exhibitions and contests in Greece and abroad.
Recently I attended a 4 month workshop of “Creative Photography” with Io Paschou in the Hellenic Centre of Photography (HCP).
The Catharsis comes in many forms in one’s life: could be a broken glass, reminder of a trip, could be a broken promise from a loved one. All leading to the dire self-knowing.
This is a personal log of a journey through a Mother’s broken health casted upon me when I mostly needed to fly. And when a mother’s name is “Pandora”, all look like a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Though this project may seem personal, it is actually a visual narrative that is relevant to human nature: we all face feelings of grief and agony, weakness and fear at some turning points in our life. And as we may feel consumed, in the end love allows us to change for ever the way we think and see the world and ourselves.
