Äimärautio is a community where people share a tremendous passion and a total commitment to horses. It is a community where horses are a way of life. The series present everyday encounters in and around the stables. These are encounters often hidden from the public outside of the racing times and behind the scenes of competition days. I have photographed in Äimärautio stable area in Oulu during the years 2015-17. The portraits, details and landscapes explore the relationship between man and horse. Also included is a part of work-in-progress series called Momentum that further explores this relationship.
