Ivana Tomanovic is an associate professor at the Academy of Arts, University of Novi Sad and the Academy of Arts in Belgrade, where she teaches photography. Regularly lectures on the visual aesthetics of photography and participated in numerous panel discussions in festivals, workshops, and conferences dedicated to photography and the visual arts.
During the span of fourteen years, she was an editor of the magazine for the culture of photography – ReFoto (Belgrade) where she has published over three hundred articles and still regularly writes articles for exhibition catalogues, books, newspapers… Ivana Tomanovic was a selector and organizer of numerous photographic exhibitions, editor of the photo-monograph of a famous Serbian photographer and collaborator on several books on photography. She has judged numerous exhibitions at home and abroad, as well organized photographic workshops and lectures. She was the board member of the Photography Fair in Artget Gallery of Belgrade Cultural Centre, and member of the national committee of the festival Rovinj Photodays in Croatia.
During 2016, she has worked as Art director Artget Gallery of Culture Centre of Belgrade. In 2018, she collaborated with Donald Weber and Royal Academy of Hague (Netherlands) on their student Fieldtrip maintained at Academy of Arts in Novi Sad.
